VH1 Cancels 'Sorority Sisters'

Let's give a round of applause to the masterminds behind FINALLY taking VH1's 'Sorority Sisters' off air!!

Since BEFORE the airing of the show, a lot of controversy had been stirred up concerning...well everything about it.
We've heard it ALL but a good bit of the chaos is due to the portrayal of the sororities on the show. VH1 wasn't the only party receiving grief, the participants of the show also received A LOT of slack for their involvement. Not only did Greeks (and others) petition for the boycotting of the show, cancellation of the show, and for sponsors to drop their ads during the show air time, but two members of the cast were suspended from their sororities in consequence of participating.

Honestly, 'Sorority Sisters' was a complete denigration and poor representation of the sororities featured on the show. As opposed to exemplifying what the sororities truly stand for, strive for, and represent, like scholarship, service, and sisterhood, VH1 portrayed the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to be childish, petty, and distasteful. They took stereotypes and presented them to the world as the reality of sororities. That seems to be the issue with reality TV these days. Its TV but its very far from reality.

Friday night at 11:10PM is the official  burial of 'Sorority Sisters.' A second airing, as they usually show, will not be airing Friday night. Once the show ends somewhere around midnight, that's it for the show.

Now if only we could get the rest of the degrading and negatively portrayed productions of African-American men AND women off of television....

Toodles, 'Sorority Sisters,' see ya again, NEVER!!
