Re-Cap of Lincoln University's Spring Fling 2013

Last week, at Lincoln University, was one that all students there eagerly wait for every year. Lincoln University's Homecoming and Spring Fling are the two most anticipated events of the year, and this year Spring Fling 13' was one that all the students will remember.

Student Government Association Vice-President of External Affairs, Justin Hawkins said, " I told the students I was going to give them a good time, and that is  exactly what I did! The Wild N' Out event was bananas, and the French Montana concert was live! I love my H.B.C.U.! This was a week to remember, and being a leader of the campus, it is moments like this that I take the most pride in."

The campus was filled with countless events Monday-Sunday. The Mr. & Miss Lincoln Pageant, game night, laser tag, vendors, sneaker show, pool party, gospel concert, cookouts, Wild N' Out Game Show, dance parties, and the French Montana concert. However, the most talked about events were Wild N' Out, the concert, and after party.

Wild N' Out took place Wednesday April 3, 2013 in the student union building, in the multipurpose room at 7:00 p.m. This event was a reinactment of the popular television show on MTV with Nick Cannon. There were two teams, but with an interesting twist, because Lincoln went againgst Bowie State University. The event was packed, and students enjoyed it. Other black universities are surrently working on bringing this game series to their schools now.

Lincoln University student, Morgan Green said,"Wild N' Out was really fun! I had a great time, and I think this event was a great idea. It brings students together, and brings pride into being a Lincoln student. By far, my favorite event of the week."

Bowie stayed on Lincoln's campus the entire day, and went to the pool party as well. Lincoln University gained much support from surrounding black institutions in their area during Spring Fling. Cheyney students came along with Bowie State, Delaware State, and University of Maryand Eastern Shore.

Saturday April 6, 2013 was the day of the concert. French Montana was the main attraction, and students were excited. French arrived at 11:00 p.m. and hit the stage at 11:45 p.m. He performed for 45 minutes, and the gym was filled with students dancing to his music. He performed 10 songs, and engaged with the students. After the performance, Montana stayed to take pictures and sign autographs. The students were pleased.

Lincoln University student, India Barber said, "The concert was one word... Fun! I really had a good time, especially since its my senior year. Shout out to the Student Government Association."

Once again Lincoln University has held another successful Spring Fling week. Students are satisfied, and happy to end the year on a good note, and looking forward to what is in store for next year.
