Congrats to these phenomenal women. They reached their dreams playing basketball and made it to the W.N.B.A.

The W.N.B.A. draft took place Monday night in Bristol, Conn.

Brittney Griner was the NO.1 pick being snatched by the Phoenix Mercury. The Chicago Sky grabbed Elana Delle Donne coming from Delaware with the NO.2 pick. Skylar Diggins was the third pick going to Tulsa from Notre Dame.

Griner the 6-foot-8 phenom finished as the second-leading scorer in women's N.C.A.A. history , with 3,283 points and a record 18 dunks.  Donne finished her college career with 3,039 points.

This was the first time they televised the draft in prime time. Training camp for the ladies opens May 5,  with the 17th season for the league starting May 24.
